TATA IPL 2026: SunRisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals, Eliminator - Preview

SunRisers Hyderabad will face Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator of TATA IPL 2026 in New Chandigarh on Wednesday.
This marks our eighth appearance in the IPL knockout stages in 14 seasons and a second under Pat Cummins, who led the team to the finals in 2024. With nine wins in 14 matches, the momentum is firmly on our side as we head into this crucial contest.
In our final group stage match, we defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 55 runs. Batting first, Ishan Kishan (79 off 46 balls), Abhishek Sharma (56 off 22 balls) and Heinrich Klaasen (51 off 24 balls) shone with half-centuries. Nitish Kumar Reddy provided a stellar finishing touch with his 29 off 12 balls and we finished with 255/4, our sixth total of 250+, the most in TATA IPL.
With the ball, Eshan Malinga picked up two wickets, while Sakib Hussain and Travis Head picked up a wicket each to restrict RCB to 200/4.
We faced Rajasthan Royals twice this season and won both those matches. Earlier in Hyderabad, Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain’s sensational performance on debut ignited the momentum to our campaign. Later in Jaipur, Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma starred with the bat to help us complete a terrific run chase.
The Men in Orange also hold the upper hand in the overall head-to-head battle, having won 14 of the 23 matches played between the sides.
The business end of the tournament is now upon and we’re all set to continue the fire upon the stage where it matters!
