Batters put on a stellar show; SRH finish league stage with a win

SunRisers Hyderabad finished the league stage in emphatic fashion with a commanding 55-run victory at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Match 67 of TATA IPL 2026.
In front of a buzzing Orange Army, we produced a complete performance with bat and ball, piling on 255/4 before defending it with discipline and control.
Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first and our top order justified the call instantly. Travis Head got us underway with a brisk 26 off 16, setting the tone early, before Abhishek Sharma lit up Uppal with another breathtaking display. The left-hander raced to 56 from just 22 deliveries, smashing four boundaries and five sixes.
Once the platform was set, Ishan Kishan took charge and crafted a superb innings at the heart of our total. Ishan struck a magnificent 79 off 46 balls, finding the fence eight times and clearing it on three occasions.
At the other end, Heinrich Klaasen continued his outstanding season with another explosive knock, hammering 51 from only 24 deliveries with five towering sixes as the momentum stayed firmly with us through the middle overs.
Nitish Kumar Reddy then added the finishing touch with a sparkling unbeaten 29 off 12 balls, helping us surge to a formidable 255/4 — another statement batting performance from our top order heading into the playoffs.
This was the sixth time we scored in excess of 250 in an innings, the highest in TATA IPL.
Defending a big total, our bowlers stayed calm and executed smartly despite the batting-friendly conditions. Eshan Malinga struck at a key moment and delivered an outstanding spell, finishing with 2/33 from his four overs while keeping the scoring in check.
Sakib Hussain impressed once again with his control through the middle overs, returning 1/31 and building pressure with disciplined lines.
Travis Head chipped in with an important breakthrough, while the entire bowling unit mixed pace effectively and stayed sharp in the field to ensure the chase never gained sustained momentum.
It capped off a memorable final home outing of the league stage, with batters firing, bowlers delivering and the Orange Army roaring us all evening. Ishan Kishan was named Player of the Match for his scintillating innings, his sixth half-century of the season, as we head into the playoffs carrying momentum and plenty of confidence.
