A memorable campaign for our Risers ends in Eliminator
SunRisers Hyderabad's TATA IPL 2026 campaign came to an end in Mullanpur on Friday night, as Rajasthan Royals secured the victory in the Eliminator.
A memorable campaign that saw us rewrite record books and secure a place in the final four may have ended in heartbreak, but it leaves behind countless moments of pride and plenty of positives to build on.
We didn’t get off to the best of starts, but Praful Hinge delivered the opening breakthrough and followed it up with another quick wicket to give us some momentum. The Rajasthan batters did well in the middle overs but we fought back well in the death overs.
Needing to maintain an aggressive approach throughout the chase and in that pursuit, we lost some early wickets. Ishan Kishan got off to a fiery start, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Impact Player Salil Arora briefly reignited hopes with a brisk partnership, while Heinrich Klaasen produced flashes of his trademark power-hitting to keep the chase alive.
Reddy's entertaining 38 from 20 deliveries and Salil's 35 showcased the fighting spirit that has defined SunRisers throughout the season. However, regular wickets ultimately halted the momentum.
While the result was not the one SunRisers had hoped for, the 2026 campaign will be remembered as a season of fearless cricket, explosive batting performances and memorable moments. The team crossed the 200-run mark nine times during the tournament, thrilling supporters with an aggressive brand of cricket that embodied the franchise's "Play With Fire" philosophy.
From standout individual performances to unforgettable victories, our Risers consistently entertained throughout the season and remained one of the teams to watch out for. Although the journey ends in the Eliminator, the campaign has provided plenty of reasons for optimism and has laid a strong foundation for the future.
The entire SunRisers family extends its gratitude to the Orange Army for their unwavering support throughout the season. We will return stronger, hungrier and ready to Play With Fire once again.
