SunRisers storm to the top with commanding victory

SunRisers Hyderabad continued their dominant run in the TATA IPL with another commanding performance at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, securing a 33-run victory to climb to the top of the points table.
After being put into bat, SRH wasted no time imposing themselves on the contest. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head came out firing, taking the attack to the bowlers right from the outset.
The explosive opening pair raced to 54 runs in just 3.2 overs, setting the tone for another big score. Abhishek smashed 35 off only 13 deliveries, while Head continued the momentum with a fluent 38 off 19 balls as SRH surged to 79/1 at the end of the powerplay.
The momentum carried seamlessly into the middle overs with Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen taking centre stage. The duo countered every challenge with aggressive strokeplay and kept the scoreboard moving at a rapid rate. Kishan completed his half-century off just 31 balls, highlighted by three consecutive sixes in one over, while Klaasen continued his sensational form with another big innings.
Together, the pair stitched a crucial 88-run stand that firmly kept SRH in control. Kishan eventually departed after a superb 55, but Klaasen remained unbeaten till the end, producing a magnificent 69* off 43 deliveries. Nitish Kumar Reddy then provided the perfect finishing flourish with a quickfire unbeaten 29 off just 13 balls as SRH hammered 63 runs in the final five overs to post 235/4.
After the break, SRH struck immediately. Pat Cummins led from the front both as captain and bowler, while Eshan Malinga produced sharp efforts in the field to help remove key wickets early. Cummins’ fiery opening spell put SRH firmly on top as the visitors were reduced to 23/3 inside four overs.
From there, SRH’s bowling unit maintained control through disciplined execution and smart use of variations. Shivang Kumar continued his impressive season with another impactful spell, claiming two wickets.
Despite resistance in the chase, the required rate continued to climb under sustained scoreboard pressure created by SRH’s imposing first-innings total. Cummins finished with figures of 2/34, while the bowling group collectively ensured the target always remained beyond reach.
Eventually, SRH sealed a convincing 33-run victory and collected two more valuable points in their push this season. It was yet another complete performance from the Risers - explosive with the bat, clinical with the ball, and relentless in intensity from start to finish.
