Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen power us to another record-breaking run chase

SunRisers Hyderabad delivered yet another stunning run chase, pulling off a record-breaking win at the Wankhede to continue our incredible momentum this season. It was our fifth consecutive victory and sixth overall in the tournament, putting us another step closer to the playoffs.
It wasn’t the easiest wickets to bowl on and Mumbai Indians were off to a big start with the bat. Despite runs flowing thick and fast, some exceptional performances kept us in the contest.
Pat Cummins bowled some vital overs to contain the run flow, but it was Eshan Malinga who made a telling difference in the match with his spell. He returned with figures of 1/29 in four overs, with an economy of just 7.25.
We finished the innings well with some tight overs in the final five, but a huge target was in sight to get two points.
After the break, we came out with fearless intent right from the first ball. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma turned the chase into a statement, taking on the attack with complete authority. The duo unleashed a breathtaking batting display in the powerplay, racing to 92 without loss and putting us firmly ahead of the game.
Head was at his explosive best, smashing 76 off just 30 deliveries, while Abhishek matched him shot for shot with a blistering 45 off 24 balls. Their opening partnership completely shifted the pressure, transforming a daunting chase into a controlled pursuit.
Even when a brief phase saw a couple of wickets fall, we stayed calm and in control. Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy stepped in and immediately took charge, stitching together a match-defining partnership. Klaasen was simply unstoppable, hammering 65 off just 30 balls in a stunning display of power-hitting. In a crucial phase, he tore into the bowling, striking multiple boundaries in quick succession to swing momentum decisively back in our favour.
Reddy provided the perfect support, ensuring the chase never lost direction, while maintaining the tempo required.
With the equation well within reach, we finished things off in style. Salil Arora delivered the final flourish with an unbeaten 30 off just 10 balls, sealing the chase emphatically with a six and wrapping up the game with eight balls to spare.
Chasing down a total of this magnitude was a testament to our depth, fearless approach, and clarity under pressure. It was a complete batting masterclass — explosive at the top, dominant through the middle, and clinical at the finish.
Five wins in a row, momentum firmly on our side, and a statement performance that showcased exactly what SunRisers Hyderabad are capable of this season.
